The biggest expense when buying books online turns out to be the shipping cost of the books. Each methods adds more expense to the cost of the items you are buying. Why is this worse with buying books online? Books weigh a lot. Practice being patient, and stick to the lower shipping price.
Keep in mind when you are buying books online, they have the advantage of qualifying with the United States Postal Service for the discounted shipping known as Media Mail. This form shipping is a little slower, but can save you money when buying the books you want. How do you get a good deal when buying books online?
There are generally three costs associated with buying online. First is the cost of the item, then the tax, and finally the shipping. Pay attention!
Research and don't look at just the price of the book. If you find the same book on two sites and the cost of the book and shipping are the same, but one charge you tax and the other doesn't, which is cheaper for you?
Check the site's shipping policy. If a site has flat shipping rate no matter the number of items purchased, this can be to your advantage if you purchase multiple items.
Check the bottom line. If you buy used and can get a flat shipping rate of $4 and book prices of $1 to $3 you would be able to buy multiple books for what it would cost you to go to the store and buy them.

With the increased cost of printing and publishing, buying new books is becoming a very costly affair. However, students and researchers need not worry as they can always buy used books from any local bookstore. The best solution to the situation is to buy used books.
It is surprising to see the used books collection that many of these resellers have. To buy that coveted book you may have to visit a few resellers and rummage through the used books stock before you are finally able to find it.
The biggest advantage of used books is their low prices. But when you buy used books the condition of the book is the foremost thing to consider. It is advisable to check the books, especially to see that the books contain all the pages including the index. Often resellers tend to put an attractive cover to hide the book’s damages.
Not only can you buy used books but you will also be able to sell used books or exchange used books at the reseller’s. Barter of used books is a good idea, as you can always pick up something useful in exchange of books not needed anymore (Susan Jan).

Used Books not Always Meaning Cheap Books

Many people have the wrong perception: the used books (always) more cheaper than new books. So, they go to the internet for hunting and shopping the used books. Off course many of them will be disappointed, because that’s not true the used books always cheaper than the new edition. For example, if the book is rare books you must “fight” first, before you may keep and show those on your library room.
Many people also make a mistake when they check the prices. What I mean? They always “forget” take the shipping fee to the prices. Not every body knows too that the international standard fee for new books now is US$ 9.98 and US12.49 for used books. It means that the used books fees more expensive US$ 2.51!
It doesn’t mean that the used books always more expensive than the new books. It doesn’t mean too that you may not buy the used books ha-ha. And absolutely this is not my “anti used books” campaign, off course. Very funny, because I me self a used books hunter.
You can get and choice books which you want, new books or a used book that’s up to you. Just one important thing that you must always remember when you shopping books on internet: be smart check the price for every books which you choice. (Ook Nugroho).
